Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring a Medical Lab Tech to work Full-Time Evenings (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)

Overview
As a Medical Laboratory Tech, you will perform laboratory testing procedures, analyze and interpret results, document findings, and report accurate test outcomes to support diagnosis and treatment. You will also assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to established procedures.
Analyze, interpret, and accurately report laboratory results.
Maintain quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Document testing activities and results in laboratory information systems.
Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to support patient care.
Follow safety, infection control, and department protocols.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemical Science, or related field required.
Certification/Licensure
One of the following certifications is required:
ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
AMT (American Medical Technologists)
AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts)
