Job Summary
CECO Environmental is a global leader in providing sustainable solutions for industrial air, water, and energy transition. Since 1966, we’ve been addressing the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. Our mission is to protect people, the environment, and industrial equipment, making a tangible impact across industries like renewable energy, semiconductor manufacturing, power generation, and water treatment. As a purpose-driven company, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and integrity, ensuring that every project we undertake creates lasting positive change. At CECO, you’ll be part of a growing, dynamic team committed to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
As part of the CECO corporate team, you will play a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of our global family of brands. Whether working in finance, HR, IT, accounting, marketing, or another corporate function, your expertise will help drive efficiency and innovation across our organization. By joining CECO, you’ll be part of a company committed to protecting the environment and enhancing industrial operations, all while fostering a collaborative and purpose-driven work environment.
CECO Environmental is a diversified industrial company with a portfolio of ~30 specialist brands spanning air pollution control, industrial water, and energy transition markets. Following our acquisition of Thermon Group Holdings (closed June 2026), we're growing our digital marketing capabilities to support an expanding family of brand and corporate websites.
The Sr. SEO and CMS Specialist supports the SEO strategy, performance, and content health of cecoenviro.com and CECO's family of brand websites, all built on WordPress. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can develop and execute SEO/AEO/GEO roadmap independently and execute it themselves, from technical audits to CMS-level content changes, without waiting on a developer or agency.
This position will report directly to CECO's Head of Global Marketing.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
SEO Strategy & Performance
• Develop and execute SEO initiatives and priorities across cecoenviro.com and CECO's brand websites• Own on-page SEO: keyword research, meta titles/descriptions, header structure, internal linking, and schema markup• Monitor site health and search performance using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush/Ahrefs; flag and fix crawl errors, broken links, redirects, and indexing issues• Conduct periodic SEO audits and competitive benchmarking against peer industrials and translate findings into prioritized recommendations.• Identify content gaps and improvement opportunities based on keyword research and performance data, and provide guidance to segment marketing and content teams on priorities, topics, and keyword best practices• Apply AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) practices to improve how CECO and brand content is surfaced in AI-powered search and answer engines (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity)• Maintain a working knowledge of industry-specific keyword strategy relevant to CECO's end markets
CMS & Website Content Management
• Execute content changes hands-on in WordPress pages, blog/news posts, product and solution pages, images, and metadata.• Manage basic on-page technical elements: XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, page speed considerations, and mobile usability.• Keep CMS user permissions, page templates, and plugin/theme updates organized in coordination with IT/web dev resources.• Support and coordinate content migrations and integration work as brand sites are added or consolidated. (e.g., newly acquired brands, brand consolidations, major site migrations)
Agency & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with the external SEO agency to support SEO initiatives and priorities.• Partner closely with our internal web developer on technical implementation, site changes, and troubleshooting that fall outside CMS-level edits.• Partner with the marketing team on content calendars, ensuring new content is optimized before publishing.• Provide input on SEO/CMS-related tool licensing and agency budgetReporting.• Report SEO/AEO/GEO performance and insights to marketing leadership on a regular cadence.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in SEO and website content management, with a track record of independently running SEO programs and initiatives (B2B or industrial experience a plus).• Demonstrated proficiency in WordPress comfortable making content edits directly, not just requesting them.• Working knowledge of SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, and at least one of Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.• Understanding of on-page and technical SEO fundamentals (schema, redirects, site architecture, Core Web Vitals).• Familiarity with AEO/GEO practices — optimizing content to be surfaced and cited accurately by AI search and answer engines, not just traditional SERPs.• Strong writing and editing skills; comfortable working within brand voice guidelines across multiple distinct brands.• Detail-oriented and self-directed — this role owns execution, not just recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with website migrations or M&A-driven site consolidations a plus.• Basic HTML/CSS familiarity for troubleshooting WordPress templates a plus.• Familiarity with AI content/SEO tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper) a plus.
Travel Requirements:
