Scalehouse Operator

GFL Environmental is looking for a Scalehouse Operator to join our team in Victoria, BC! 

The Scalehouse Operator will be responsible for the scaling of all trucks that enter the landfill or transfer station while providing efficient, courteous customer service to GFL’s internal and external customers servicing multiple locations across Greater Victoria area.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Weigh in and out all vehicles that enter the transfer station  

• Keep transfer station management apprised on any community information regarding the transfer station 

• Test the scale tickets daily for accuracy 

• Ensure the accuracy of waste disposed of in proper areas (grid reports) 

• Provide timely and accurate information for customer billing and internal reporting 
• Verify accuracy of hauls and disposal for payment of third-party truck hauling 

• Perform and support environmental compliance tasks as needed 

• Additional administrative duties as needed 
  

Requirements: 

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) 
• Experience with customer service preferred 

• Excellent verbal communication skills 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve customer concerns in a professional manner 

• Valid Driver’s license
