  • Develop, validate, and document gas quantification methods using the OPUS FTIR and CAI PAS software.
  • Write engineering procedures and reports and update existing documentation.
  • Assist customers in person and remotely using phone, E-Mail, or internet support.
  • Attend regular productions meetings and present progress to management.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, manipulate spectral databases, and manage spectral software libraries.
  • Translate spectral data into clear, actionable technical reports for non-technical end users and cross functional teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Engineering, or highly related scientific field.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, and ability to read wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Strong computer literacy and exposure to basic data analysis tools (such as Microsoft Excel or specialized scientific plotting software), and a readiness to learn specialized spectroscopy software (e.g., OPUS, Symbion).
  • Exceptional root-cause analysis skills and the ability to identify failures.
  • Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to follow multi-step protocols without deviation.
  • Ability to work in the United States and travel internationally.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with FTIR spectral databases and manipulation software.
  • Familiarity with complementary analytical techniques, like Gas Chromotography (GC), Raman Spectroscopy (GC), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
  • Experience in environmental chemistry or atmospheric gas analysis.
