GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Child & Family Psychologist is responsible for conducting structured psychological and behavioral assessments for pediatric neurodevelopmental cases, with a strong focus on ABA-based assessment frameworks. The role includes compiling comprehensive assessment reports for review and validation by the Clinical Psychologist and contributing to family-centered understanding and intervention planning. The position operates within defined clinical governance structures, reporting to the Clinical Psychologist for clinical matters and to the Head of Rehabilitation Services for operational matters.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Responsibilities
1) Conduct comprehensive child and family psychological assessments covering behavioural, emotional, adaptive, and functional domains.
2) Administer and support ABA-based and related multidisciplinary assessment tools.
3) Collect developmental history, caregiver interviews, behavioural observations, and standardised data.
4) Participate in multidisciplinary assessments with Clinical Psychologists, OTs, STs, and EI teams.
5) Identify child strengths, needs, and family priorities for intervention planning. 6) Prepare clear, structured psychological and behavioural assessment reports. 7) Include observations, results, interpretations, and preliminary recommendations within scope.
8) Submit reports for Clinical Psychologist review and revise based on feedback.
9) Provide family feedback and psychoeducation under Clinical Psychologist guidance.
10) Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings, case conferences, and supervision.
11) Adhere to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, consent, and professional boundaries.
12) Escalate complex clinical, ethical, or safeguarding issues and report incidents appropriately.
13) Support EI team operations, workflows, scheduling, and case allocation as assigned.
14) Maintain punctuality, manage caseloads, complete documentation on time, and ensure proper handovers.
15) Engage in supervision, CPD, training, and periodic competency evaluations to support service quality
Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by immediate superior or hospital management.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant allied health or behavioural science discipline.
