Senior Accountant - Corporate Finance

Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team, based in the Downtown Houston office.  As a key player in the team’s operations, this individual should be conscientious about their role and possess a strong “can-do” customer service attitude.  The Senior Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities 

• Oversee U.S. and international tax compliance, including coordination with external advisors and review of filings
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances
• Assist with consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactions
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation
• Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvements
• Perform and oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries and complex account reconciliations
• Partner with cross-functional teams (payroll, tax, operations)
• Communicates frequently with CFO, Controller and Assistant Controller
• Manage Staff Accountant(s) for Latin America
• Mentors other Finance Team personnel on priority projects and other areas of accounting
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Ad hoc financial analysis projects

** This role is a hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 7-9 years’ experience in an accounting role
• Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff accountants or junior team members
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
• Good working knowledge of tax rules and regulations with the ability to apply these rules to transactions in a professional services firm
• Experience working within a dynamic multi-country team in a professional services firm
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional oral/written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups
• Proficient in MS Office Suites – Advanced Excel
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred
