Senior IIoT Solution Architect (Ignition)
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior IIoT Solution Architect with strong expertise in Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform to join our Industrial IoT Solution Delivery team, designing and guiding the implementation of scalable digital solutions across our global manufacturing environments.
In this role, you will define Ignition architectures, connect industrial systems and shop-floor technologies with enterprise and cloud environments, and provide technical leadership throughout solution delivery. You will collaborate with automation engineers, IT, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to enable secure and reliable OT/IT integration.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design scalable Ignition architectures, including distributed, multi-site, redundant, and edge deployments, defining data flows, tag models, historian strategies, alarming, and reporting
- Develop integration patterns across Ignition, Kepware, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug B, industrial databases, and cloud services
- Provide technical leadership throughout solution delivery, including code reviews, performance optimization, quality standards, and reusable components
- Collaborate with automation teams to integrate PLCs and industrial control systems across manufacturing environments
- Partner with IT, cybersecurity, and network teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable OT/IT connectivity
- Advise technical and business stakeholders on solution options, trade-offs, roadmaps, PoCs, and new implementations
Your Background
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, including Gateway architecture, Perspective/Vision, Tag Historian, Alarming, Reporting, and Gateway Network
- Solid experience with industrial connectivity technologies such as OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug B, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Kepware, and PLC integration
- Proficiency in Python/Jython and a strong understanding of SCADA, IIoT, OT/IT integration, and industrial manufacturing environments
- Experience integrating industrial solutions with databases and cloud technologies, preferably within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
- Knowledge of industrial security and architecture principles, including ISA-95, IEC 62443, certificate management, and network segmentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience and availability to travel approximately 20–30%
