We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Clinical Services - Villages to lead the clinical strategy, operational performance and continuous improvement of village-based clinical services across our Retirement Living portfolio.
This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of integrated care within retirement living, while leading a highly capable team dedicated to achieving outstanding resident outcomes.
Your Opportunity
This is a newly created leadership opportunity, offered as a full-time 12-month contract working across our Head Office and village locations with strong potential for permanent conversion.
As the Head of Clinical Services - Villages, you will be accountable for the leadership, performance and ongoing development of all clinical services delivered across Anglicare Retirement Villages.
Leading a team of Clinical Leads, Allied Health Lead and Senior Clinical Leads, you will ensure clinical services are safe, sustainable, resident-centered and aligned with organisational strategy, clinical governance frameworks and the For Life model.
Working collaboratively with operational leaders, quality teams, clinicians and external partners, you will drive excellence in clinical practice while enabling innovation and continuous improvement across the service.
With strategic vision and operational expertise, you will:
Clinical Leadership & Service Delivery
Lead the safe, effective and consistent delivery of village-based nursing and clinical services
Ensure residents receive high-quality clinical assessments, care planning, reviews and interventions
Drive excellence across clinical practice areas including care planning, medication support, wound care, continence management, infection prevention and clinical escalation
Ensure services operate within approved scope, governance requirements and resident consent frameworks
Promote evidence-based practice, resident-centred care and service consistency across all villages
Clinical Governance, Risk & Quality
Provide senior oversight of clinical risk, incidents, complaints, safeguarding matters and service delivery concerns
Monitor service quality through audits, quality indicators, resident feedback and operational reporting
Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with aged care legislation, standards, clinical governance requirements and organisational policies
Drive a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement
Strategic Planning & Service Development
Lead the ongoing evolution of the village clinical services operating model
Support implementation of the For Life model and future service innovations
Identify opportunities to improve resident outcomes, workforce capability, operational efficiency and service sustainability
Contribute expert clinical leadership to business planning, service development and organisational priorities
Partner with key stakeholders to shape future models of care within Retirement Living
People Leadership & Workforce Capability
Lead, mentor and develop Clinical Leads, Senior Clinical Leads and village nursing teams
Foster a high-performing culture built on learning, accountability and collaboration
Ensure workforce capability, competency frameworks and professional development pathways are maintained
Provide leadership during periods of change, growth and service transformation
Champion Anglicare's Vision, Mission and Values through authentic and values-led leadership
Resident Experience & Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with residents, families and representatives
Partner with Village Managers, Care Service Leaders, General Practitioners, specialists and allied health providers
Ensure residents and families remain informed, engaged and involved in care planning decisions
Represent Village Clinical Services across governance, quality and strategic forums
What You'll Bring
You are an experienced clinical leader with strong operational acumen, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a passion for improving the lives of older Australians.
You will also need:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential
A full driver’s license and own car is essential
A master's in nursing or equivalent is good to have
Significant leadership experience within aged care, retirement living, community health, home care or a related healthcare setting
Extensive experience in aged care legislation, quality standards, clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management
Experience driving service transformation, workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives
Exceptional communication, relationship-building and influencing skills
