The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all incoming shipments are received into the system in a timely manner and put away in assigned locations. The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all outbound shipments are properly shipped and have all supporting documentation as required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all associates are following all safety rules and guidelines and assigned areas are clean and orderly.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training all new associates in the department.
- Address and resolve all associate issues as they arise by working with the department manager and Human Resources.
- Responsible for ensuring that incoming shipments are received and put away in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that all out bounds shipments are packed correctly according to customer requirements and all paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Ensure that all international shipments are labeled and packed correctly, and shipping documents are accurate and complete.
- Responsible for following up with shipping companies to resolve lost and or damaged product.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment – forklifts, wave units, etc. are safe and in working order.
- Ensure that shipments to and from our off-site warehouse are safely and properly shipped and put away in assigned locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education is preferred.
- High School diploma is required.
- Prior warehouse/shipping and receiving experience is preferred.
- Good understanding of warehouse inventory systems.
- Excellent communication skills are needed, including both verbal and written.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Knowledge of ISO requirements and standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and teamwork are required.
- Must be dependable.
- Must be able to follow through with instructions from the department manager.
- Must be able to focus on tasks at hand and complete them.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with shipping companies.
- Must be able to make decisions and accept responsibility for those decisions.
