Fulton Hogan has secured the IAF Hamilton reservoir project, which includes a new 25 mega-litre water reservoir and pump station, a large diameter trunk watermain and other local waters upgrades and improvements. The project is expected to support around 4,000 new homes, located close to employment, education and transport to enable a ‘20- minute city’ where people can live, work and play in the same space and reduce their need for travel.

We’re looking for a Digital Engineering Specialist to help us do good work in smarter ways. In this role, you’ll build, maintain and support digital engineering workflows that help our teams find, trust and use data across our construction projects.

You’ll work across BIM, GIS, survey, spatial and automation, turning complex 2D and 3D data into practical tools our project teams can actually use. From models and visualisations to geospatial data and common data environments, you’ll help improve decision making, project delivery and customer outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for someone who likes solving problems, improving how things work and working alongside good people who back each other. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and when it counts, we switch on and deliver to a high standard.

Ideally based in Tauranga, this role will require some travel to Hamilton on a weekly basis.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Create, review and maintain CAD drawings, BIM models, visualisations and geospatial datasets.
• Manage digital content in common data environments and support integrated 2D and 3D data workflows across projects.
• Support delivery teams with construction staging, validated data, as-built records and digital engineering execution plans.
• Work with delivery partners to develop geospatially accurate, interoperable GIS, CAD and BIM models.
• Provide practical support, coordination and basic training to help teams adopt digital engineering tools, workflows and better ways of working.

• A Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Surveying, Computer Science or a related discipline, plus at least 3 years’ experience in construction with relevant site exposure.
• Strong knowledge of digital engineering standards and practices, including the NZ BIM Handbook, ISO 19650 and field-based surveying workflows.
• Experience with tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, 12D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Trimble Connect, ArcGIS Online and FME.
• Strong data management, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain quality and accuracy.
• A collaborative, customer-focused approach, with sound judgement, attention to detail, a positive attitude and a strong commitment to safety, ethics and continuous improvement.
