Pre-Op/PACU Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

McIver Clinic has been a trusted provider of urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of urology.

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our office-based surgery center. This position provides nursing care and support to patients before and after outpatient procedures and works closely with providers and other members of the healthcare team.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, daytime hours. No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Complete pre-procedure nursing assessments and review patient information, medications, allergies, and required documentation.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other required information.
• Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and provide pre-procedure instructions and support.
• Assist with IV access and administer medications as permitted by applicable requirements, provider orders, and organizational policies.
• Work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
• Monitor patients during the recovery period following outpatient procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, comfort, pain, and overall patient condition.
• Communicate changes or concerns regarding a patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Provide patients and caregivers with post-procedure instructions and education.
• Assist with the discharge process according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
• Follow established infection prevention, safety, and clinical procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Assist with daily clinical and administrative activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

Experience

• Previous experience in pre-procedure care, post-procedure recovery, perioperative nursing, procedural nursing, or outpatient surgery preferred.
• Urology nursing experience preferred.
• Two years of relevant nursing experience preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current, active Florida LPN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
