Role summary/purpose of job

This is a role of critical importance and trust within our global finance function. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming payments. This position requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and an unwavering commitment to compliance and accuracy. You will play a vital part in upholding the firm's fiduciary duty and ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

Accounts Receivable Operations & Team Leadership:

• Lead a team of two — one Client Cashier and one AR Analyst, providing day-to-day guidance, support and oversight.
• Arrange team cover to ensure continuity of key accounts receivable and client account activities during absences and peak workload periods.
• Provide cover for the Client Money role as required, ensuring continuity of key client money processes and controls.
• Allocate and monitor team tasks, roles and priorities to ensure accurate, timely completion of daily, month-end and ad hoc deliverables.
• Accurately and promptly process and apply all incoming office payments across multiple currencies.
• Manage the daily cash reconciliation process for all receipts, ensuring the firm’s records match bank statements perfectly.
• Download bank statements through online banking and enter bank transfers.
• Monitor the pooled client money account.
• Conduct bank reconciliations for all accounts receivable bank accounts.
• Reconcile balances for assigned general ledger accounts.
• Process nominal invoices and write-offs.
• Apply for certificates of tax residence.
• Carry out month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities audit.

Controls & Team Support:

• Adhere to all internal financial controls and segregation of duties policies to prevent fraud and error.
• Prepare reports on cash receipts management.
• Liaise with the Billing, Collections, and Accounts Payable teams to resolve cross-functional queries.
• Serve as a point of contact for fee-earners and their assistants for queries related to client payments and trust balances.
• Support for the Global Finance Cashiers Manager for Audit, Audit reports
• Support for the Global Finance Cashiers Manager for the Breach register

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is essential.
• Direct, hands-on experience with cash application is mandatory.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to 100% accuracy.
• High level of integrity and discretion, with a complete understanding of the confidential nature of the role.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict daily deadlines in a high-volume processing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies methodically.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with a large-scale accounting system.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in an international lawfirm and with client-trust accounting is advantageous
• Familiarity with online banking platforms for reporting and transaction investigation.
