To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet the Cooperating Partner Managements


This position is based in [ Kosti] and reports to [Head of Programme ,Kosti].

THE ROLE

To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

  • Provide AOs with technical and operational support on the implementation of WFP’s Corporate NGO Guidance, which includes Call for Proposals, selection processes, partner induction, performance monitoring, using the UN Partnership Portal, and so forth.
  • Lead the FLA management-related tasks to ensure all the Agreements are prepared correctly and in line with the SOPs.
  • Ensuring timely creation of FLAs in WINGS and quality distribution reports and relevant invoices are submitted timely for the reconciliation against deliveries and payments process.
  • Tracking the progress of the FLAs in terms of consumptions and alerting technical units (AM/Officers) for expected FLA amendments and adjustments.
  • Coordinate information and reports on partnerships for program and management briefings, taking points reports and ACR.
  • Provide guidance on Field Level Agreement (FLA) management, including budget negotiations, data entry, distribution reports, and invoice management, as well as technical partnership agreements at AO levels.
  • Provide training/webinars/information sessions and other knowledge management and learning opportunities for AO staff involved in the management of partnerships, as required, and equip them to be able to deliver training to CPs.
  • Identify, synthesize, and collate best practices and lessons learned to promote knowledge development and sharing on effective CP management and risks mitigation measures across the region.
  • Ensure standardization of templates, formats, reporting structure, and cost allocations.

ORGANIZATION AL CONTEXT:

This job is found in Sudan Country Office (CO) El Obeid Area Office in Kosti, and job holder reports to a more senior Programme Policy Officer.

 

Job holder is likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. 

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet the Cooperating Partner Managements

Provide training/webinars/information sessions and other knowledge management and learning opportunities for AO staff involved in the management of partnerships, as required, and equip them to be able to deliver training to CPs. Identify, synthesize, and collate best practices and lessons learned to promote knowledge development and sharing on effective CP management and risks mitigation measures across the region. Ensure standardization of templates, formats, reporting structure, and cost allocations.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Advanced University Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Affairs, Auditing, Finance, Law or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience working across diverse programme areas, including planning and implementation; experience in leading teams; programme experience at all levels from grassroots to management engagement; Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, professional demeanor toward internal and external partners and stakeholders; Appetite for exploring and experimenting with new ideas and approaches. 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must have strong organizational skills with an ability to work independently, as part of a diverse team, work and to take an idea from theory to practice. 
  • Have ability to work systematically, use initiative, good judgement, and to communicate complex matters both orally and in writing; proven ability to work in a team environment and achieve common goals. 
  • Have Training and/or experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, project management and other standard WFP software packages and systems  
  • Ability to work independently in a timely and organized manner. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team, participating in open dialogues and valuing diverse opinions of others, regardless of gender, culture, background, experience, or country assignment. 

Language: Fluency (level C) in English & Arabic language both written and communication
