The primary purpose of the Graduate Assistant (GA) position is to provide essential support for departmental teaching, research, and administrative operations. It serves the dual purpose of advancing the Department’s mission while providing the GA with practical, supervised experience in clinical, instructional, administrative, or research tasks. This role is integral to developing GA’s professional competencies as a future practitioner, bridging academic training with hands-on departmental responsibilities.

This position is Hybrid (In-Person/Remote)

  • Provide instructional support for core courses by leading discussion sections, grading assignments with rubrics, and providing detailed student feedback.
  • Prepare and maintain instructional materials, including updating course websites (e.g., Canvas), organizing content, and setting up audiovisual or clinical equipment for instructional delivery.
  • Manage administrative tasks for the Department, such as coordinating events, maintaining student records, and handling confidential communications.
  • Aid in accreditation compliance by helping to collect, organize, and analyze program assessment data and student learning outcomes.
  • Actively participative in the Department at recruitment events, open houses, and professional conferences to engage students, prospective students, and the broader community.
  • This is a hybrid, multitasking, knowledge-based role that combines apprentice- and employee-professional level tasks with student identities.
