Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Readiness in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter setting.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entry points, parking areas, and the property perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
• Support a respectful, welcoming environment by communicating professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining awareness of site rules and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Possess CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Possess CPR certification preferred.
• Have access control/badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
