MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Systems Monitoring Observability and Technical Lead to join their Digital Engineering Services and Solutions team in London. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to become the subject matter expert for observability across MUFG’s EMEA technology estate, with primary responsibility for Dynatrace SaaS. • Take ownership of Dynatrace SaaS platform administration, configuration, and optimisation, ensuring robust observability across infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and business processes.
• Lead the migration from legacy monitoring platforms such as IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) and Netcool Omnibus (NOI) to Dynatrace SaaS, driving adoption of modern monitoring standards throughout the organisation.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, application support, engineering, cloud, and service management teams to enhance service reliability, performance analysis, and operational reporting while supporting incident management activities.

What you'll do:

As Vice President, Systems Monitoring Observability and Technical Lead at MUFG in London you will play a central role in shaping the future of technology resilience across EMEA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around managing the Dynatrace SaaS platform, ensuring it is configured for maximum effectiveness and acting as the go-to expert for observability strategy. You will design advanced monitoring solutions that span infrastructure to business services while developing dashboards that provide actionable insights by defining governance frameworks and continuously enhancing platform standards you’ll ensure MUFG remains at the cutting edge of observability practices. Your ability to mentor others will foster knowledge sharing across operational teams while your focus on automation will drive efficiency improvements throughout the organisation.

• Administer and manage the Dynatrace SaaS platform including configuration, tenant administration, access controls, user roles, management zones, monitoring policies, and data retention settings.
• Maintain monitoring standards by developing tagging strategies, naming conventions, governance frameworks and ensuring effective observability across all technology layers.
• Act as the primary technical authority for Dynatrace capabilities and roadmap development while engaging with vendor support teams to resolve platform-related issues.
• Design, implement, and optimise monitoring solutions using Dynatrace SaaS covering infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring (APM), distributed tracing, real user monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, log management and analytics.
• Develop meaningful dashboards, alerting rules, management zones, reporting capabilities and service views that support proactive service management.
• Lead the migration of monitoring capabilities from legacy platforms including IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM), Netcool Omnibus (NOI), and other enterprise solutions; assess existing configurations for rationalisation and modernisation.
• Support decommissioning of legacy event management platforms by developing migration plans and onboarding approaches for new services.
• Provide technical support for Dynatrace platform including incident response, problem resolution and change management activities; participate in major incident investigations offering performance analysis expertise.
• Integrate monitoring platforms with service management tools such as ServiceNow; develop automation capabilities using Dynatrace APIs and workflow functionality.
• Define platform standards by maintaining documentation, architecture diagrams and support procedures; identify opportunities for continuous improvement through automation and enhanced monitoring practices.

• Experience leading or supporting migrations from legacy platforms such as IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) and Netcool Omnibus (NOI) to Dynatrace is highly valued.
• Expertise in designing enterprise observability strategies that cover both infrastructure and application layers within mission-critical 24x7 environments.
• Strong background in service performance analysis including event correlation, suppression, deduplication and enrichment solutions.
• Demonstrated ability troubleshooting complex platform integration issues within monitoring environments while supporting ITIL-aligned incident management processes.
• Practical knowledge deploying OneAgent/ActiveGate components plus configuring alerting policies anomaly detection rules dashboards custom reporting.
• Experience integrating Dynatrace with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms using APIs for administration reporting automation.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Windows server platforms scripting automation via PowerShell Python Bash or similar technologies.
• Excellent communication stakeholder engagement skills combined with attention to detail accuracy structured approach customer focus commitment to continuous improvement.
