Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse (Peds)

Overview

NWA Pediatrics is currently in search of a nurse. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday (8-5/5:30). Applicant must love working with kids, awesome Pediatricians, amazing nurses and wonderful PCA’s. Must be self-motivated and have a pleasant personality. The Licensed Vocational/Practical and/or Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct or indirect nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physician's practice.

 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist physician; set up for procedures and exams; revising daily schedules; locating lab tests and other reports for the physician to review
• Contact pharmacy to order new, refill and correct prescriptions; notify patients; document appropriately
• Notify hospital when admitting patients and send physician's orders
• Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures; notify patients of test results; schedule follow-up appointments as appropriate
• Answer patient phone calls and provide knowledge based expertise

Qualifications: 

• Graduation certificate from accredited LPN or RN school of nursing
• 12 –18 months related experience and/or training
• Current State License
• Current CPR Certification
