SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Supervisor, Envronment.

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the Manger, Environment, the Supervisor, Environment, is responsible for providing senior support to operations with the goal of supporting sustainable operations. The position will require providing leadership and guidance to Environment Advisors in the completion of their duties. This includes compliance monitoring, permitting applications, workplace inspections, report preparation, and preparing and maintaining environmental management plans.

Your Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide senior environmental support to assist SGO Mining in meeting all regulatory and company commitments.

·       Lead and mentor Environment Advisors in completion of their duties.

·       Provide technical support to operation teams on environmental challenges and standards.

·       Provide senior review and/or create site environment reports.

·       Lead investigations into environmental incidents, including making recommendations and ensuring appropriate site corrective actions are developed and implemented.

·       Act as a key point of contact between the Environment Department and external parties (federal / provincial regulators, consultants, etc.).

·       Promote proactive environmental awareness within the company.

·       Lead site Environment Team to obtain and renew environmental approvals and permits.

·       Any other duties as assigned by the department.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

·       Knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation and regulations for the mining industry.

·       Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a team atmosphere.

·       Demonstrate technical and analytical skills.

·       Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Your Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

·       Recognized university degree in Environmental studies or related science program.

·       Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the mining industry.

·       Environmental management, project management or other related responsibilities.

·       Proven environmental experience including monitoring and compliance, permitting and reporting.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out from pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
