We provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery. Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care. 

Our Services include wide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care. 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse - Colorectal to join our team at St John of God Midland Public Hospital on a permanent part-time basis, working 15.2 hours per week.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment across aged care, medical and rehabilitation services, you will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients with a range of complex and chronic health conditions. You will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their recovery, rehabilitation and ongoing care journey, promoting independence, dignity, safety and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care to patients across aged care, medical and rehabilitation settings.
• Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide clinical care to patients with complex, chronic and age-related health conditions, including supporting patients with multiple comorbidities.
• Monitor patients' clinical conditions, recognise changes in health status and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support patients to achieve their rehabilitation and functional goals, promoting independence and participation in their care wherever possible.
• Work collaboratively with medical, allied health and nursing teams to support coordinated and effective patient care.
• Provide education, guidance and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment and ongoing care needs.
• Promote a safe and respectful environment that maintains each patient's dignity, privacy, preferences and individual needs.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, mentoring and support of nursing staff within the team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards, policies and legislative requirements.

Your skills and experience

• You will be an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering person-centred care across medical, aged care and rehabilitation settings.
• You will have strong clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

To succeed in this role, you will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

You will demonstrate advance clinical skills in medical nursing caring for patients with complex and chronic health conditions, particularly in a colorectal speciality.

• Salary: $109,599 to $115,681 pro rata for part-time, plus 12% superannuation
