ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX is seeking a Senior Staff Orchestration Engineer to serve as a senior individual contributor driving the architecture and delivery of advanced enterprise orchestration and AI-first technical solutions. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, enterprise architecture, and business operations, solving complex, cross-functional problems by building the intelligent orchestration layer that connects systems, data, AI capabilities, and people across FOX.

As a Senior Staff Orchestration Engineer, you will operate beyond individual workflow implementation to define technical direction, establish architectural patterns, and solve some of the organization’s most ambiguous and technically challenging automation problems. You will design solutions that combine enterprise APIs, event-driven architectures, orchestration platforms, custom software, and emerging AI capabilities—including large language models and agentic workflows—to fundamentally rethink how work gets done.

You will act as a hands-on technical leader and forward-deployed engineer, working directly with business and technology leaders to understand complex operational challenges, rapidly prototype solutions, and translate successful concepts into secure, resilient, reusable enterprise capabilities. You will influence engineering practices and architecture across teams while remaining deeply involved in design, coding, integration, and delivery.

Your work will help evolve FOX from manual and ticket-driven processes toward an AI-first, automation-first operating model in which intelligent systems can coordinate work across applications, automate complex decisions and actions, and enable employees to accomplish more through self-service experiences.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role for an engineer who thrives on ambiguity, moves fluidly between architecture and implementation, and can turn emerging technologies into practical enterprise solutions with measurable business impact.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect and deliver sophisticated, end-to-end orchestration solutions spanning enterprise applications, APIs, data, events, automation platforms, and AI services
• Define the technical architecture and engineering patterns for enterprise orchestration, establishing reusable approaches that enable solutions to scale beyond individual workflows or business units
• Design and build AI-first workflows and agentic solutions that combine large language models, enterprise data, APIs, tools, and deterministic business logic to automate complex knowledge and operational work
• Evaluate where AI, traditional software engineering, workflow orchestration, RPA, or a combination of approaches provides the most effective solution to a business problem
• Serve as a hands-on, forward-deployed technical leader, partnering directly with stakeholders to decompose ambiguous business challenges and rapidly design, prototype, and productionize solutions
• Build robust integrations across collaboration, HR, finance, procurement, project management, content, data, and other enterprise platforms using APIs, webhooks, events, and custom services
• Develop custom services, integration components, and orchestration logic using technologies such as Python, JavaScript, or Node.js when platform capabilities alone are insufficient
• Design AI solutions with appropriate grounding, tool use, context management, evaluation, observability, and human-in-the-loop controls for enterprise environments
• Transform manual, ticket-driven, and multi-system processes into intelligent, event-driven and self-service experiences that materially reduce cycle time and operational friction
• Establish technical standards for orchestration architecture, integration design, reliability, observability, testing, versioning, deployment, and lifecycle management
• Design reusable frameworks, connectors, abstractions, templates, and reference architectures that accelerate automation and AI solution development across FOX
• Identify architectural bottlenecks and systemic opportunities where shared orchestration capabilities can eliminate duplicated engineering effort across teams
• Rapidly prototype emerging AI and automation technologies, determine their enterprise applicability, and translate promising concepts into production-grade solutions
• Partner with security, privacy, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure solutions meet FOX requirements for security, governance, resilience, and scalability
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and power users, raising engineering quality and enabling teams to build safely on shared orchestration capabilities
• Influence technology strategy and architectural decisions across organizational boundaries through technical expertise, prototypes, reference implementations, and demonstrated business outcomes

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Typically, 8+ years experience designing and delivering complex enterprise software, integration, automation, or orchestration solutions at scale
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior technical individual contributor, owning architecture and technical direction for complex initiatives spanning multiple systems, teams, and business domains
• Deep expertise in API-driven system integration, including REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven patterns, authentication and authorization, JSON payloads, error handling, resiliency, and distributed system considerations
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, or comparable technologies, with the ability to move comfortably between architectural design and hands-on implementation
• Experience architecting solutions using workflow orchestration, integration, automation, or low-code/no-code platforms while understanding when custom engineering is required
• Hands-on experience applying AI technologies to real-world technical or business problems, including integrating large language models or AI services into applications and workflows
• Strong understanding of modern AI application patterns such as retrieval and grounding, tool/API invocation, structured outputs, workflow-based agents, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design
• Experience designing production systems with appropriate security, observability, reliability, testing, versioning, deployment, and operational controls
• Ability to decompose highly ambiguous, cross-functional business problems into clear technical architectures and pragmatic implementation strategies
• Demonstrated success rapidly prototyping complex solutions and evolving them into maintainable, scalable production capabilities
• Strong architectural judgment and the ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs across speed, complexity, extensibility, reliability, security, and business value
• Experience influencing engineering practices and technical decisions across teams without relying on direct reporting authority
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and senior leaders
• Strong systems thinking and a track record of identifying reusable platform capabilities rather than solving each automation problem independently
• A builder mindset with curiosity about emerging technologies and the judgment to distinguish meaningful enterprise capabilities from technology trends
• Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

• Experience designing or deploying agentic AI systems that coordinate models, tools, APIs, enterprise data, and human approvals
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms, LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, model evaluation, or AI observability technologies
• Experience establishing enterprise automation, AI, or orchestration architecture standards and governance frameworks
• Familiarity with major enterprise systems across HR, finance, procurement, collaboration, identity, IT service management, or project management
• Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, serverless computing, cloud-native services, or integration-platform architecture
• Familiarity with RPA and browser-based automation for systems where APIs are unavailable or insufficient
• Experience building internal developer platforms, reusable integration frameworks, or shared automation capabilities used by multiple engineering teams
• Experience enabling technical and non-technical power users while establishing appropriate platform guardrails and governance
• Background in enterprise transformation, process modernization, or large-scale operational automation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-210,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
