As a Medication History Pharmacy Technician at MercyOne, you will provide technical support in obtaining, verifying for accuracy, and recording initial medication histories from patients &/or their designated family/caregivers upon presentation to Mercy patient care areas. This includes conducting patient &/or family interviews focused on obtaining current medication regimens including prescription and over-the-counter (non-prescription) medications, as well as vitamin and herbal supplements. Will also perform other functions of a pharmacy technician registered in the State of Iowa and within the scope of Iowa law as needed.
Schedule:
- 40 hours a week
- 10:30 am - 7:00 pm
- Every 3rd weekend
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required when nationally certified through NHA
- PCTB nationally certified technicians do NOT require HS diploma or GED
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within 3 months of hire
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification; Minimum of 2000 hours of pharmacy technician experience required; and Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire
OR
- Registered Pharmacist-Intern with the State of Iowa at the time of hire
