This is a hybrid role to be based near one of our offices in New York City or Los Angeles

Job Description

As a Senior Associate, your primary role within the Strategy & Insights team is to provide support and ownership of day-to-day needs for custom qualitative projects, leading to high quality delivery of insights and related recommendations for a wide range of clients and categories.

Specific operations-oriented responsibilities include owning or overseeing organizational elements of project setup, supporting client communication and project updates, owning or providing contribution to fieldwork preparation and logistics, fieldwork support, contribution to analysis and reports, and supporting other ad-hoc project activities and/or long-term community projects as directed.

High attention to detail and accuracy, autonomy in self-management, creativity and flexibility. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing deadlines and needs with limited senior oversite.

Skills required for success include critical thinking, strategic thinking, strong analysis, project management and pattern and problem identification orientation around solutions and point of view (POV). Ability to learn and adapt to cutting edge technologies to drive efficiency.

You will be mentored by senior leadership and receive on-the-job formal training through Material.

Qualifications

  • We are open to alternative modes of education and experience that qualify candidates for the role. Many successful candidates have Bachelors degrees and/or studies in a social science, communications, or business related field and we welcome different backgrounds of study.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years work experience, preferably related.
  • You are deeply curious about people (e.g., what motivates them, the why behind their decision making).
  • You enjoy thinking critically about what things mean and how insights should be applied to problems and challenges
  • You possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive to do whatever it takes to make big impact for your team and clients.
  • You have an eye for details and make a conscious effort to understand the actual cause behind an occurrence.
  • You can adapt to changing priorities to meet multiple project timelines and client needs.
  • Project Management Skills: attention to detail, organization, and project tracking
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to present research findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Curiosity and Learning Mindset: Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn, openness to sharing, receiving, asking for and applying feedback. And adaptability to new methodologies and technologies in the market research field.

Pay Range: $28.00/hr – $30.00/hr

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Material. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
