Location: Logan Health Medical Center | Kalispell, Montana
Shift: Day Shift – 8 Hours | Full-Time – 40 Hours

As an Environmental Services Technician – Laundry Services, you will help make sure our patients, employees, and departments have the clean linens they need every day.

From patient bedding and towels to gowns and other hospital linens, the Laundry team plays an important role in keeping Logan Health clean, safe, and ready to care for our community.

This is more than doing laundry. Clean linens are an important part of patient care and infection prevention. Your work helps provide patients with a clean and comfortable environment while supporting teams across the hospital.

What You'll Do

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and prepare hospital linens for use.

  • Handle clean and soiled linens safely and correctly.

  • Help make sure departments have the linens and supplies they need.

  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and laundry procedures.

  • Use washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.

  • Keep laundry work areas clean, organized, and ready for use.

  • Check linens for stains, damage, or items that should be removed from use.

  • Keep supplies stocked and report when additional items are needed.

  • Take care of equipment and report problems when needed.

  • Complete daily tasks without needing step-by-step direction.

  • Adjust priorities when department needs change.

  • Work with other team members and departments to get the job done.

  • Follow Logan Health policies, department procedures, and safety rules.

You may work behind the scenes, but your work is an important part of every patient's care.

We're looking for people who are dependable, hardworking, and pay attention to details. You should be comfortable staying active throughout your shift, working independently, and being part of a team.

You don't need hospital experience to understand the importance of a clean sheet, a fresh gown, or having the right linens ready when they're needed. We'll provide the training. You bring the reliability, teamwork, and pride in a job well done.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to read, speak, and understand English well enough to follow written and spoken instructions.

  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to stay organized and decide which tasks need to be completed first.

  • Able to pay close attention to details.

  • Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, visitors, and coworkers.

  • Able to handle private information in a professional and confidential way.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new computer programs as needed.

  • Able to work with people from different backgrounds and experiences.

  • Kind, dependable, and committed to doing quality work.

Preferred Qualifications

These are helpful, but not required:

  • One (1) year of related work experience.

  • Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, environmental services, healthcare, hotels, restaurants, or another service-related job.

  • Experience answering phones or responding to pages.

  • Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience preferred. 

  • Proficiency in the English language required.  Possess ability to follow written and oral instructions required.

  • Self motivated and possess ability to work effectively in a team environment and with a diverse customer and coworker population required.

  • Prior experience answering phones and responding to pages preferred.

  • Possess knowledge of the proper use of commercial equipment and devices preferred.

  • To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position: 

    • Current Driver’s License required. 

    • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).

    • In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:

      • State law minimum liability coverage limits required.

  • Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.

  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Prioritizes job functions to maintain proper workflow.

  • Identifies the need and performs duties without specific direction.

  • Exhibits working knowledge and correct usage of equipment and devices per assigned area(s).  Maintains equipment and resources appropriately and safely.

  • Exhibits working knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control as applicable to assigned area(s). 

  • Follows confidentiality and safeguards for all patient and/or customer related information.

  • Responds to pages in a timely manner as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Performs job duties efficiently and per department procedure, protocol and in accordance with State of Montana laws and regulations, for assigned area(s).

  • Stocks assigned carts for appropriate departments in a timely manner as applicable to assigned area(s).

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
