Job Description
Just imagine creating the shared language that connects marketing, consumer experiences, data, and AI across the LEGO® digital ecosystem. Then make it real.
About the role
As our Staff Engineer, Marketing & Engagement Technology, you'll help shape the technical direction of one of the most transformative areas within the LEGO Group. You'll work across multiple domains, products, and engineering teams, connecting strategy with execution while enabling consistent engineering practices at scale. In this permanent role, you'll partner with engineering, product, business, and design leaders to solve complex challenges, introduce new ways of working, and lead the development of semantic models and ontologies that support our digital transformation and data strategy.
Required Qualifications
Delivered technical leadership across multiple engineering teams without direct line management responsibility
Built semantic models and ontologies using open standards within enterprise environments
Applied Domain-Driven Design principles to complex product or platform ecosystems
Held a Lead Engineer, Staff Engineer, or similar senior technical leadership role
Developed technical architectures and engineering strategies across multiple domains
Contributed more than 8 years of software engineering experience within modern technology organisations
Preferred Qualifications
Implemented knowledge graph solutions that improved data quality and business outcomes
Developed software using modern programming languages in production environments
Applied agile delivery practices across product and engineering teams
Used infrastructure as code, serverless technologies, or DevOps practices within cloud-based platforms
What you'll build
Drive discovery and alignment across multiple domains within a technology cluster
Support engineering, design, and product leadership in cross-product decision-making
Promote engineering standards and consistent practices across teams
Lead the introduction of new engineering approaches and cultural initiatives
Align technical direction in partnership with Principal Engineers
Build proof-of-concepts that explore emerging technologies and validate solutions
Create and maintain technical documentation, guidance, and technical storytelling
Lead the development of a semantic model and ontology for Marketing and Consumer domains
Collaborate across digital products to address complex technical challenges and dependencies
If you've worked in a role where you've defined semantic frameworks, shaped technical direction across several teams, and translated complex architectural concepts into practical solutions, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to combine technical depth with the experience to guide organisations through meaningful change.
Life on the team
Marketing & Engagement is driving some of the most significant technology transformations within the LEGO Group. The team is evolving modern platforms that support an in-house data strategy and enable more informed, effective marketing experiences. We work closely across disciplines and domains, sharing knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and creating space for better technical conversations. You'll join colleagues who value collaboration, mentoring, continuous improvement, and a thoughtful approach to solving difficult problems together.
What success looks like
Success means creating alignment where complexity exists and helping teams make confident technical decisions. You'll play a key role in advancing the Marketing Transformation programme, supporting AI-driven initiatives, and establishing semantic foundations that enable better data and consumer experiences. Working closely with Principal Engineers, engineering leaders, product teams, and domain specialists, you'll help shape how Marketing & Engagement technology evolves over the coming years.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
