JPI has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Agentic Software Developer to join the Solution Delivery team within the Digital Engineering organization in Dallas, TX. This is an entry-level position designed for a recent or upcoming graduate beginning their software engineering career.
As JPI continues to expand and modernize its AI and software development ecosystem, this role contributes directly to the agents, applications, and integrations that advance our digital strategy and transform building. You will write production code from your first months, working alongside senior developers who will review your work, teach you the enterprise stack, and progressively hand you ownership of your own solutions.
The Associate Agentic Software Developer builds and supports JPI-proprietary agents, full-stack internal applications, and system integrations using platforms such as Workato and complementary technologies. The role reports to the Lead Integration and AI Developer and works closely with technical and non-technical teams across the company. It is structured for deliberate growth: responsibilities expand as demonstrated capability grows, with senior review and mentorship as the constant.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Agentic AI Development
Build, test, and maintain agentic AI applications, AI-powered automations, and RPA solutions under the direction of senior developers.
Implement the security controls, policy-based guardrails, access controls, and monitoring capabilities defined by enterprise AI standards.
Validate agent behavior through testing, prompt evaluation, logging, and monitoring, and document the results.
Investigate and resolve defects in existing agents based on operational performance and user feedback.
Full-Stack & Integrations Development
Develop and support integrations using Workato, Python, Node.js, Oracle Cloud, and REST APIs, following secure coding practices and established integration patterns.
Write backend logic and APIs for internal web-based applications, and build responsive, accessible user interface components to the front-end standards set by senior engineers.
Translate assigned technical specifications into working, tested code, and produce the accompanying documentation for integration workflows, APIs, and agent configurations.
Monitor integration and application performance, and escalate issues that require senior attention.
Agile Sprint Methodology
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement, and deliver assigned user stories on schedule.
Submit work for peer code review, incorporate feedback, and participate in the testing, validation, and deployment activities that support production releases.
Collaboration & Learning
Work with business stakeholders, UI developers, architects, and integration engineers to gather requirements under senior guidance and keep solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Support adoption of delivered solutions through user training, documentation, and knowledge sharing, and continuously build knowledge of agentic AI frameworks, AI security, and responsible AI practices.
AI and Automation
Uses approved enterprise AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork, Microsoft Copilot) to draft, summarize, analyze, and accelerate everyday work.
Applies agentic engineering practices across the software development lifecycle, using AI agents to plan, generate, refactor, test, and document application code.
Reviews and verifies AI-generated code, configuration, and content for correctness, security, and maintainability before it is committed or shared, and follows company data handling, confidentiality, and acceptable-use policies when working with AI tools.
Non-essential Functions & Responsibilities
Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
