Responsibilities & Requirements

The Medical Assistant I supports patient care by performing both clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of licensed providers. This role assists with patient assessments, prepares exam rooms, documents patient information, and helps maintain efficient clinic operations to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate care. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.High school diploma or equivalent.No prior experience required; entry-level role suitable for recent graduates or individuals with equivalent training.Within 15 months from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of one of the following certifications/registrations: CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT) or RMA (through ARMA) plus documented completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited institution of higher learning.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Six months or more of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA).
