Job Summary

The Buildings Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, management, and execution of industrial and commercial building projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

This role will lead projects involving multiple disciplines and subcontractors while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, contractual requirements, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, design professionals, estimators, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members to drive projects toward successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate has experience managing lump-sum construction projects and understands the coordination, planning, and commercial discipline required to successfully execute projects as a general contractor. Experience in managing design-build projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage building projects from preconstruction and turnover through construction, commissioning, and final closeout.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead project planning efforts in collaboration with the Superintendent and project team to establish execution strategies and milestones.
  • Manage project budgets, cost projections, change management, billings, and overall financial performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules while identifying potential delays, constraints, and recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage design coordination on design-build and design-assist projects, including constructability reviews, design progression, scope alignment, and communication between the design and construction teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, proposals, and other project documents to ensure scope and contractual requirements are understood and properly executed.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, scope development, buyout, performance, and change management.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication regarding schedule, cost, quality, safety, procurement, design, and other critical project issues.
  • Identify project risks early and develop solutions before they negatively impact project performance.
  • Partner closely with field leadership to ensure the project team has the information, resources, materials, and decisions necessary to maintain production.
  • Support Moore's safety and quality programs and reinforce accountability throughout the project team.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, forecasting, and records.
  • Manage project closeout, including punch lists, commissioning, turnover documentation and warranties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience, preferably managing building projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
  • Experience managing lump-sum construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience with design-build and/or design-assist project delivery strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of building construction methods, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and multidisciplinary construction.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, schedules, change orders, contracts, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accountability in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Software Proficiency (Preferred)

  • Project Management Software (Plangrid, ProCore, or similar)
  • Primavera P6
  • BlueBeam Revu
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
