NOVO Health Services is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily plant operations at our Miami facility, driving performance across safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
This role is responsible for supervising production associates and Team Leaders, ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory and infection-control compliance, and consistent service delivery to our healthcare partners. The Production Supervisor partners closely with Maintenance/Engineering, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Distribution, Soil, and Clean Side teams to resolve operational challenges and keep production on schedule.
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, develops and holds teams accountable, and is comfortable working flexible hours to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure operational goals for safety, quality, productivity, and customer service are achieved
- Monitor production flow, staffing levels, equipment utilization, and labor hours to achieve established productivity and PPOH targets
- Ensure production schedules are completed on time and customer requirements are met
- Coordinate with Maintenance/Engineering regarding equipment issues, downtime, preventive maintenance needs, and production priorities
- Work closely with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Distribution, Soil, Clean Side, and other departments to resolve operational and customer-related issues
- Monitor employee attendance, breaks, overtime, staffing, and work assignments to maintain appropriate labor utilization
- Assist other departments during periods of high volume, staffing shortages, equipment downtime, or other operational needs
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees and Team Leaders while maintaining accountability for performance and workplace standards
- Conduct shift-start meetings and communicate daily expectations, safety topics, production goals, quality concerns, and operational priorities
- Ensure employees are properly trained and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist with employee onboarding, training, cross-training, and development
- Assist management with employee performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and corrective-action documentation
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, hygiene, OSHA, safety, and company policies and procedures
- Conduct regular production floor inspections to identify safety hazards, quality concerns, bottlenecks, and operational opportunities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment in accordance with established housekeeping and infection-control standards
- Participate in safety, quality, infection-control, and operational audits
Quality & Performance
- Monitor linen quality throughout the production process, including proper sorting, washing, drying, finishing, folding, and preparation for shipment
- Investigate production, quality, or safety issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Ensure accurate completion of production reports, productivity data, downtime documentation, and other required operational records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve linen quality, and control operating costs
- Recommend improvements to production processes, workflow, staffing, equipment utilization, and workplace organization
- Support inventory control and linen management initiatives as needed
Administrative & Support Functions
- Participate in production meetings and provide updates regarding productivity, staffing, quality, downtime, and operational challenges
- Escalate significant safety, quality, staffing, equipment, or customer-service concerns to the Operations Manager or General Manager as appropriate
- Support special projects and customer requirements as assigned by management
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a production, manufacturing, laundry, warehouse, or similar high-volume operational environment
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate employees in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to understand and manage production goals, labor utilization, productivity metrics, and operational performance
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and ability to enforce company safety policies
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing production requirements
- Ability to document incidents, performance issues, production results, and corrective actions accurately
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email, spreadsheets, production systems, and other company software
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial or healthcare laundry environment
- Experience supervising high-volume production operations
- Knowledge of healthcare linen processing, infection-control requirements, and hygienic laundry practices
- Familiarity with production KPIs such as PPOH, labor cost, overtime, rewash, reject rates, quality performance, and on-time completion
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or similar operational excellence methodologies
- Experience conducting safety and quality audits and implementing corrective actions
- Experience with automated laundry equipment, production tracking systems, or laundry management software
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
