- FTE 1.0 (80 hours per two week pay period)
- 8-hour day shift(start 7a-9a and working to 3:30p - 5:30p)
- No weekends
- Primarily remote work arrangement, with periodic onsite presence as needed.
- Preferred expertise in Medicare Cost Reporting, CMS reimbursement, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Preferred experience serving as a technical leader and advisor for hospital and health system reimbursement and compliance matters.
Job Description:
Accountable for the coordination, direction, preparation, review and filing of the Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare cost reports and Minnesota Department of Health Hospital Annual Report and Medical Education Research Cost (MERC). Coordinates the direction of audits, appeals, amending's, and reopening's related to cost reports. Leads the Allina Medical Education, Provider Based Department analysis and READ (Reimbursement Enrollment Accreditation Database). Manages and provides training, coaching, and development to designated cost report analysts.
Principle Responsibilities
- Department Management
- Directs cost report and hospital annual report preparation, review and filing.
- Guides cost report audits, appeals, amendings, and reopenings.
- Provides high-level reviews for designated cost reports (Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare) and Minnesota Department of Health hospital annual reports.
- Leads the coordination of Allina Health's medical education including the medical education research cost (MERC) filings.
- Coordinates the system's provider based department analysis and owns the READ (Reimbursement Enrollment Accreditation Database).
- Directs annual filings.
- Attends designated reimbursement leadership meetings.
- Team Leadership
- Interviews, hires and ensures appropriate onboarding for staff.
- Ensures annual and applicable training is made available and completed for all staff.
- Provides staff performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and career counseling.
- Leads provider and department staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7+ years of medicare reimbursement experience with a fiscal intermediary, public accounting, or consulting background
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health Administration

Pay Range
Pay Range: $48.29 to $66.81 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education.
