The Westfield Area YMCA is seeking friendly, reliable Fitness Coaches to join our Health & Wellness Team at our Cranford location. We offer a fun, positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities of the Fitness Coach include, but are not limited to:

• Instructing members how to safely and properly exercise, with or without equipment
• Detecting and correcting unsafe exercises by offering appropriate modifications to meet members' goals
• Supervising, monitoring and ensuring cleanly appearance of the fitness areas
• Placing malfunctioning equipment out of order and reporting, according to protocol
• Promoting YMCA membership retention by being a “people person” and demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude

Current Open Shifts: Monday - Friday - 5am to 9am; 5pm to 9pm

Saturday - 6am to 4pm; Sunday - 7am to 3pm

Pay Range:  $16.00-$18.50 per hour, based on education and certifications

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess, maintain and renew CPR for the Professional Rescuer, EPI, Asthma and First Aid certifications
• Possess a general knowledge of fitness
• Strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable communicating with members
