OVERVIEW:
The General Laborer is responsible for operating the filament winders, which includes setting up, tearing down, and cleaning the filament winders.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Laborer is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
· Set up the winder as instructed by the published procedures.
· Operate the winder as instructed by the published procedures.
· Complete the Work Orders properly and record the required data accurately.
· Always follow the General Safety Rules of the company as well as safety guidelines within published procedures and report any identified safety hazards to a supervisor or manager.
· Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
· Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals.
· Always maintain a clean work environment.
· Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The General Laborer must at a minimum possess the following:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Ability to safely operate various hand-held tools and power tools.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment.
Ability to comprehend production requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The General Laborer must be able to:
Lift a minimum of 50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
Cardiorespiratory: Have average to above-average cardiorespiratory fitness* to perform the essential tasks of this job safely. Must be able to safely tolerate significant demands on the cardiorespiratory system related to working in hot and humid environments, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting heavy items.
*Cardiorespiratory demands vary depending on speed/rate of activity, environmental influences (i.e., temperature, humidity, etc.) body weight, external weight/forces, age, and level of fitness of employee.
Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
