With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.The Integrated Construction Technology Lead supports HNTB's Digital Transformation Solutions Group by providing advanced technical expertise in digital delivery, construction technology, and integrated project delivery. This role serves as a senior technical resource responsible for evaluating, implementing, and supporting technology solutions that connect planning, design, construction, and operations across complex infrastructure programs.
The position focuses on applying industry-leading digital delivery technologies to improve project outcomes, enhance collaboration, and enable data-driven decision making throughout the infrastructure lifecycle. Working closely with project teams, construction managers, construction inspectors, designers, contractors, owners, and technology leaders, the specialist develops scalable implementation strategies, technical standards, and integrated workflows that support successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate possesses deep experience implementing and integrating infrastructure technology platforms, with particular expertise in the Bentley technology ecosystem, including Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC), ProjectWise, SYNCHRO, OpenRoads, OpenBridge Modeler, iTwin, and related digital delivery solutions. The successful candidate understands how these technologies integrate with complementary platforms supporting BIM, scheduling, project controls, field construction, reality capture, and information management to enable model-based construction planning, digital coordination, project controls, and construction execution.
This position emphasizes technical leadership, solution architecture, innovation, and practical implementation. The Integrated Construction Technology Lead serves as a trusted technical advisor to project teams and clients while helping advance HNTB's digital delivery capabilities, technology standards, and strategic digital transformation initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Leads service improvement initiatives and activities to increase customer satisfaction. This includes developing strategic plans, influencing virtual teams to drive execution of initiatives.
- Works with IT solutions, architecture, utility, and cloud services
- Acts as technical lead for enterprise data management platform implementation for CRM redesign.
- Manages and creating user accounts, directory access, and server permissions.
- Manages the in-house services related to the internet.
- Trains and educates customers on how to use certain software and hardware as requested.
- Performs development and architecture for software, database, third-party integration, internationalization and infrastructure.
- Sponsors roadmap, physical of failures correlation between system hardware, firmware and software, network topology infrastructure, reliability simulation at system and network level
- Contributes in the development of marketing and collateral material relating to technology services or products. Leads business development and planning efforts, including calculation of cost, risk, and scope, and support local offices in preparation of responses to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs by providing expertise on specialized technologies and/or practices.
- Provides single point of contact for technology projects and products and/or leads specific technical or functional portions of a project. Determines scope of work and objectives; estimate project costs and prepare proposals and contracts. Actively manages project budget, schedule, communications and documentation. Coordinates work efforts; reviews work performed, and communicates regularly with department leadership on project progress.
- Applies expert business skills and consulting methodologies to collect and analyze data to determine the applicability, functionality, and viability of new technologies.
- Advocates for internal and external clients by establishing user groups and acting as a liaison between users and the technology office.
- Supports the identification of internal resources and external contractors to meet project requirements.
- Researches new and emerging technologies and assess feasibility applications to current and future business needs. Analyzes business unit activities and trends and compares analyses against service standards and best practices. Presents findings to business unit leadership and identifies and implements strategies that will address tactical and strategic goals.
- Works with clients and technology office staff to identify, analyze, design, develop and implement fully integrated solutions of moderate to high complexity that support HNTB’s products, service and/or business processes.
- Develops detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify compute programs or systems.
- Reviews use cases and other technical documents with technology office project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning. Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practices and end user test plans.
- Ensure process, conducted and documentation accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions. Identifies training and development. requirements of user groups and provide support when required by designing and developing training initiatives.

What You Will Do as Integrated Construction Technology Lead
- Serve as the primary technical resource for infrastructure digital delivery solutions, providing subject matter expertise throughout planning, design, construction, and operations.
- Lead the technical implementation, integration, and optimization of infrastructure technology platforms, including Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC), ProjectWise, SYNCHRO, iTwin, and AssetWise, as well as complementary solutions from Autodesk, Trimble, and other industry-leading technology providers.
- Develop and implement integrated design-to-construction (D2C) workflows that improve collaboration between engineering, construction, and owner organizations.
- Design and support Common Data Environments (CDEs), information management strategies, and digital delivery workflows that enable efficient project execution and lifecycle information management.
- Collaborate with project teams, construction managers, designers, contractors, owners, and technology partners to develop scalable technology solutions aligned with project objectives and business requirements.
- Develop enterprise standards, implementation strategies, governance frameworks, and best practices supporting digital delivery, model governance, and infrastructure information management.
- Configure workflows that integrate BIM, GIS, schedule, cost, asset, reality capture, and operational data into connected project delivery environments.
- Lead technical implementation of model validation, digital coordination, interoperability, digital handover, and model-based QA/QC processes.
- Partner with clients to assess technology needs, evaluate solution alternatives, and develop implementation strategies that improve project delivery and long-term business value.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor solutions to determine applicability, implementation strategy, and return on investment for HNTB and its clients.
- Support technical pursuits, proposals, client workshops, technology demonstrations, and strategic digital delivery initiatives.
- Mentor project teams on infrastructure technology platforms, information management practices, implementation methodologies, and digital delivery standards.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives that advance HNTB's digital transformation strategy and technology capabilities.
What You'll Bring:
- Demonstrated experience implementing infrastructure technology solutions on transportation, aviation, transit, rail, or major civil infrastructure programs.
- Extensive experience with the Bentley ecosystem, including Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC), ProjectWise, SYNCHRO, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, iTwin Platform, AssetWise, and MicroStation.
- Experience developing integrated design-to-construction (D2C) workflows supporting model-based project delivery.
- Strong understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs), information management principles, and digital handover processes.
- Experience implementing model governance, model validation, interoperability, and model-based QA/QC workflows.
- Knowledge of BIM, GIS, schedule, cost, asset management, reality capture, and digital twin integration strategies.
- Experience evaluating and integrating technology solutions across Bentley, Autodesk, Esri, Trimble, and enterprise data platforms.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and implementation strategies.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure teams throughout project delivery.

- Experience developing digital delivery standards, information management procedures, governance frameworks, and implementation strategies.
- Demonstrated success serving as a technical lead for digital delivery, construction technology, or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Bentley Accredited Professional, ProjectWise Administrator, or other Bentley certifications preferred.
- Proficiency integrating across common transportation platforms such as Trimble, Autodesk, ESRI, AashtoWare, InfoTech, among other similar platforms
- Ability to bridge technical implementation, digital delivery strategy, client consulting, and practical project execution.

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $165,550.16 - $264,450.28. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state..
