Description
A leading organisation is seeking an experienced IT Governance Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening governance, risk, compliance and security practices across the organisation. This opportunity is ideal for a strategic thinker who can balance governance rigour with practical business enablement while working closely with senior stakeholders, architects, security teams and IT leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, coordinate and mature IT governance practices across business units.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of IT governance, security and data standards.
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, standards and guidelines.
- Lead governance forums, working groups and reporting processes.
- Support audit, assurance and regulatory activities through effective governance oversight.
- Conduct governance maturity assessments, compliance reviews and risk evaluations.
- Work closely with security teams and the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to implement security governance initiatives.
- Provide governance and security oversight across projects and solution delivery environments.
- Engage with executive stakeholders and communicate governance, risk and compliance insights effectively.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in IT Governance, Risk and Compliance within enterprise IT environments.
- Proven experience implementing and operationalising policies, standards and governance frameworks.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments, preferably financial services.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at senior and executive levels.
- Experience supporting governance, audit and assurance forums.
- Knowledge of governance and security frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, ISO/IEC 38500 and NIST.
- 7+ years of broader IT experience across multiple disciplines.
- Qualifications in IT, Information Systems, Risk Management or related fields.
- Exposure to IT security, architecture or cyber security functions.
- Experience within financial services or asset management environments.
- Familiarity with CISSP-aligned governance and security practices.
