General Summary:
We are looking for a Product Owner to join our RUN organization within the Acquisition space, supporting a portfolio of compensation-related applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple Agile teams, balancing operational stability, business-driven enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.Specifications:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Proven experience delivering technology-focused initiatives and working within Agile product management environments.
Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive decisions, challenge the status quo, and lead through change, both with and without formal authority.
Technical acumen and experience collaborating with architects, developers, and cross-functional teams to define roadmaps and technical requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
Strategic, analytical problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
High degree of ownership, accountability, and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
Commitment to continuous learning, coaching, mentoring, and team development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring work aligns to business value, strategic roadmap objectives, client needs, and technical sustainability.
Translate business and client requirements into clear features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams.
Partner with stakeholders to develop business cases, measure outcomes through KPIs, and track benefit realization of delivered solutions.
Ensure client feedback, operational requirements, risk considerations, and technical dependencies are reflected in roadmap and prioritization decisions.
Collaborate with multiple Agile teams to manage delivery progress, communicate timelines, monitor risks, and support successful releases into production.
Leverage Agile, customer-centric, and product management practices to drive continuous improvement and adoption of new capabilities.
Maintain deep business knowledge, stay informed on industry trends, and contribute to Product Owner best practice communities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and active listening skills.
Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and make decisions in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and business acumen with a focus on value delivery.
Passion for solving business problems and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
Self-starter who can work independently while managing work across multiple Agile teams.
Continuous learner with the ability to quickly build business and product knowledge.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies; SAFe Product Owner certification required.
Experience with compensation systems, CLA/UUS platforms, or related business domains is an asset, but not required.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,400.00-$183,500.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
