Core Hours: 11:30a-8p Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:30a-6p Wednesdays & Fridays, hours

                                      may change as business dictates, holidays and weekends may be needed.

Status: Nonexempt

Payrate: $20.00

SUMMARY

The Kitchen Utility / Dishwasher maintains sanitation and cleanliness standards for dishes, cookware, and the overall kitchen space. This role supports cooks and chefs by ensuring a steady supply of clean dishware and a safe workspace. A Kitchen Utility / Dishwasher keeps the kitchen clean, sanitizes dishware, and maintains equipment. Responsibilities include operating dish machines, washing pots, taking out trash, and sweeping floors. Candidates must stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Washing and Sanitizing: Scrape, wash, and stack plates, glasses, silverware, and pots using machine or manual soak methods. 
• Kitchen Cleanliness: Sweep and mop floors, clean walls, and wipe down food prep surfaces and sanitatizes food contact surfaces.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule, set up 3-compartment sinks daily with proper sanitation ratios, and maintain accurate temperature logs for dish machines.
• Waste Management: Empty trash cans, break down cardboard boxes, and take garbage to designated outdoor bins. 
• Station Upkeep: Set up and close the dish area properly, monitoring water temperatures and chemical levels. 
• General Support: Restock clean items in cooking and service areas, and help with basic prep tasks when needed. Works with the volunteers in the dishroom to assist with the cleaning tasks and put away clean items.
• Mission Alignment: Execute all duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Feeding Tampa Bay.

• Willing to actively participate in mission-driven programs, such as food distribution initiatives, assisting at our Cafe locations and disaster relief operations as needed.
• All internal candidates must be in good standing with no corrective actions within the last 90 days. 
• This position requires long periods of standing, walking around, kneeling, and bending over.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn health, sanitation, and chemical safety rules.
• Previous kitchen or utility experience is a plus 
• Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
