Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join our UK Finance team.In this role, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance, and robust financial controls across a diverse portfolio of entities. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you will help drive operational excellence while supporting the company's continued growth.
Job Description:
Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
• Perform month end, quarter end, half year, and year end reporting closures as per the agreed timeline.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and income statement reviews.
• Maintain fixed asset registers.
• Complete intercompany reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Ensure transactions are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain accounting procedures and support process improvements.
• Respond to finance queries from internal and external stakeholders
Compliance & Statutory Reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial controls.
• Reconcile and prepare and submit VAT filings including VAT estimates for monthly/quarterly cashflows
• Prepare statutory financial statements.
• Consult with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting and reporting requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
• Contribute to process improvement and finance transformation projects.
• Support ERP and finance systems developments.
• Assist the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis
Technical and Cross Competences
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Experience of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures, controls and reconciliations.
- Experience working within a multi-entity environment.
- Experience in hedge accounting (desirable)
- Experience in IFRS16
- Experience in large colume inter-company transactions
Managerial Skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong team player.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification).
5+ years' finance/accounting experience, or 3+ years post-qualification experience.
Strong understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.

Salary range: 45K-50K + variable bonus and benefits
The compensation range indicated in the job posting represents an estimated average range for the position. The final remuneration will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with EU pay transparency.
