THE JOB

Live Nation is seeking a Production Runner/Backstage Experience Assistant for The Van Buren. This position reports to the venue’s Assistant Production Manager, and is responsible for various errands, tasks, and hospitality duties to support local production and touring personnel for shows. This role will act as a hospitality-focused position ensuring a phenomenal experience for touring personnel backstage. Confidentiality is very critical to this role.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while always remaining pleasant and professional.
  • Assist the venue’s Assistant Production Manager in maintaining back of house hospitality expectations and backstage division-wide goals.
  • Prior to tour arrival, complete walk-through with checklist to ready all backstage areas and notate any damage to be repaired.
  • Perform opening/running/closing side duties according to company practice and policy.
  • Will be the backstage brand ambassador on show day and the face of the service culture program.
  • Manage daily hospitality budgets and submit receipts at the end of each show.
  • Complete Post-Show Service Recap Form.
  • Coordinate with the venue’s Assistant Production Manager to ensure tour rider requirements are met while aiming to exceed touring personnel’s expectations, and to create hospitality-minded moments for every show.
  • Assist with any day-of-show needs of the tour including greeting tour upon arrival to the venue, coordinating with tour to assign dressing rooms and place hospitality items, coordinating and delivering meals and/or other food and beverage as needed, running for requested supplies or equipment, checking green room periodically throughout the day to tidy up, transporting touring personnel to hotels or other requested destinations, answering any questions from the tour or directing them to another crew member who can help, etc.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

  • Must be able to maintain composure and professionality around high profile artists/guests.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work late and extended hours
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must have a properly working automobile and provide proof of insurance.
  • Exceptional driving record
  • Knowledge of the region to properly locate restaurants, stores, hotels, airport, area attractions, etc.
  • Knowledge of touring/stage production and/or event operations
  • Proficient computer skills including utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based applications
  • Excellent communication skills and punctuality
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to self-manage and problem solve in real-time, with demonstrated experience finding creative solutions

Preferred:

  • 3 years of work experience interacting with people in a positive, hospitality-focused environment.
  • Experience in a live music/events environment or comparable role.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 30 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
  • Working environment is fast paced—often hectic, loud and stressful.
  • Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet both indoors and outdoors.
  • Position requires often-constant physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying equipment.
