International Banking & Lending (IBL), within the Private Banking Group (PBG), is responsible for driving deposit and lending growth among Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients in the International Wealth Management segment. IBL partners with Financial Advisors and field leadership to deliver tailored liquidity, credit, and cash management solutions that address the complex needs of global families across approved international jurisdictions.
Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Private Banker to join the International Banking & Lending Sales Team. The International Private Banker will serve as a trusted banking and lending specialist and business developer, driving responsible growth in lending and deposit solutions while increasing advisor engagement and client adoption of the Firm's banking platform.
Position Overview
The International Private Banker is a senior banking and lending professional responsible for driving the growth of Morgan Stanley's banking, deposit, and lending relationships with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) international clients. Working in close partnership with Financial Advisors, International Lending Advisors, Market and Branch Management, and product partners, the International Private Banker identifies, develops, and executes banking and lending opportunities while helping Financial Advisors deepen client relationships through the full suite of Morgan Stanley banking solutions. The role serves as a strategic advisor to Financial Advisors, fostering greater adoption of banking products, enhancing advisor proficiency, and delivering integrated lending, deposit, and cash management solutions tailored to the complex needs of international clients.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
Drive responsible growth in lending balances, deposit acquisition, and banking revenue across the International Wealth Management client segment
Identify and develop new banking and lending opportunities through proactive advisor and client engagement
Create and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve production, balance, and advisor participation goals
Partner with Financial Advisors to profile client relationships through a disciplined book review framework
Provide banking and lending expertise to support the development and delivery of solutions based on client needs identified in partnership with the Financial Advisor.
Provide expertise across the full spectrum of banking products, including deposits, securities-based lending, customized credit solutions, mortgages, and treasury management services
Partner with Market/Branch Management and field leadership to implement product marketing and business development initiatives
Promote best practices and maintain a strong risk management culture while delivering exceptional client outcomes
Advisor Engagement
Establish trusted relationships with Financial Advisors, Market/Branch Managers, and field leadership by consistently demonstrating execution excellence and subject matter expertise
Build product awareness and increase adoption of the Firm's banking and lending solutions among Financial Advisors and Support Professionals through a disciplined book review framework
Participate in client meetings and advisor strategy discussions to provide specialized banking and lending guidance
Serve as the primary point of contact for banking product inquiries, structuring considerations, and solution design
Qualifications / Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years of successful lending, banking, or business development experience within a private bank, commercial bank, investment bank, or wealth management organization
Demonstrated experience working with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients in diverse jurisdictions
Proven track record of originating and growing lending and deposit balances through advisor and client engagement
Strong expertise in cash management, deposits, and lending solutions across multiple collateral types and credit structures
Familiarity with Letters of Credit, foreign exchange markets, life insurance financing, and international wealth planning structures including trusts, private investment companies (PICs), and related wealth structures
Working knowledge of global regulatory environments, cross-border banking risks, and enhanced due diligence requirements
Understanding financial markets and UHNW client dynamics across Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East

Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree, MBA, or related advanced degree preferred

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
