[What the role is]
Lecturer (Aviation Management) / School of Engineering[What you will be working on]
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, project supervision, and student consultations for full-time and part-time learners.
- Design, develop, deliver, and review curriculum, learning materials, assessments, and teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Leverage technology-enabled learning approaches, including e-learning and self-directed learning, to support effective teaching and learning.
- Assess student performance, set assignments and examinations, and ensure the quality and integrity of assessment processes.
- Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to address diverse student learning needs and support holistic development.
- Supervise Student Internship Programme (SIP) students, Major Projects (MP), and other experiential learning activities.
- Engage with industry partners, professional bodies, and communities to maintain curriculum relevance and participate in industry projects.
- Organise and manage local and overseas student learning trips, as well as polytechnic-wide events and activities.
- Support departmental initiatives and undertake teaching and related duties outside normal office hours when required.
[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary qualification in any discipline with at least 3 years of relevant aviation industry experience.
- Competency to teach at least two of the following domains: Airport Operations & Management, Airside Operations & Management, and Air Traffic Management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Passion for education and student development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional settings.
- Adaptable and versatile, with the ability to respond to changing operational and educational needs.
- Experience in airport or air traffic simulation is preferred.
