Team Member - Bakery (morning bake part-time)

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of baking duties and assists with the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies,

cakes, doughnuts, and other pastries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

a. Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls and/or other baked goods, including icing and frostings, according to

established recipes.

b. Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.

c. Knowledge of care of culinary equipment, supplies, and materials.

d. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.

General Responsibilities

a. Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and

equipment needed for daily baking activities.

b. Spreads or sprinkles a range of various toppings on specialty bakes items.

c. Shapes dough for cookies, pies, and other pastries either by hand or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters.

d. Cut and weighs dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in

pans; inspects product for quality during and after baking and makes adjustments to processes as required.

e. Detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies and/or other unusual conditions.

f. Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.

g. Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.

h. Operates with a sense of teamwork.

i. Reports to work for scheduled shifts on-time.

j. Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.

k. Accepts direction willingly and follows through with delegated tasks.

l. Performs tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department manager

m. Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.

1. Bakery and shift lead experience required.

2. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently.

3. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.

4. Ability to stand or walk for duration of the assigned shift.

5. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladder.

6. Ability to reach above shoulder height frequently.

7. Ability to talk and hear to communicate with customers.

8. Finger and hand dexterity with ability to grasp and hold items of different sizes.

9. Vision ability – close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.

10. Ability to read register screen and product and shelf labels.
