THE JOB
SD Concerts is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Manager to lead the day-to-day Human Resources function for the company in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Human Resources Manager will serve as a trusted partner to SD Concerts leadership and employees, with responsibility for the full employee lifecycle and the effective delivery of HR programs and practices across the organization. This role will oversee key areas including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, HR administration, labor compliance, organizational development, and employee engagement. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can operate strategically while also managing the day-to-day HR needs of a growing live entertainment business.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Serve as the primary Human Resources partner to SD Concerts leadership and employees, providing practical, business-focused guidance and developing people strategies that support the company’s objectives, organizational needs, and continued growth.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, employee development, compensation and benefits, engagement, retention, and offboarding, partnering with Live Nation resources as appropriate.
- Advise and coach managers on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace issues, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and employee separations, partnering with Legal and other internal or external advisors when appropriate.
- Ensure HR policies, employment practices, documentation, and employee-related decisions comply with Dominican Republic labor laws and regulations, local social security requirements, and applicable company policies and standards, including required processes with the Tesorería de la Seguridad Social (TSS) and other relevant authorities.
- Manage employee data and HR processes in Workday, ensuring employee records, organizational structures, job information, and other employee transactions are accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
- Lead performance and talent management activities, partnering with managers to establish clear expectations, provide meaningful feedback, identify development opportunities, and support the development and retention of high-performing talent.
- Support compensation and benefits programs, including compensation planning, salary and incentive recommendations, employee benefits administration, and other monetary and non-monetary rewards, considering internal equity, market practices, and the company’s financial objectives.
- Identify organizational and employee development needs and coordinate relevant training and development initiatives, including programs available through INFOTEP and other external providers.
- Develop and execute employee engagement, culture, and internal communication initiatives that foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing, and positive work environment and reinforce SD Concerts and Live Nation values.
- Maintain effective HR operations and controls, including accurate employee records and personnel files, job descriptions, organizational documentation, HR reporting, and the annual Human Resources budget; analyze relevant workforce metrics and trends to provide leadership with meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Partner closely with Live Nation’s Latin America and global Human Resources teams, as well as Finance, Legal, Payroll, and other functional partners, to implement applicable company programs, policies, processes, and best practices while addressing local business and regulatory requirements.
- Support workplace health, safety, and employee wellbeing initiatives and help ensure appropriate working conditions for employees.
- Provide HR support for concerts, festivals, and other live events as needed, recognizing the unique staffing, scheduling, and operational demands of the live entertainment industry.
- Manage and develop HR team members, where applicable, and foster a high level of service, accountability, and responsiveness to employees and business leaders.
- Partner with Legal and appropriate internal and external advisors on labor and employment matters, claims, disputes, and other employee-related legal issues.
- Perform other HR-related duties and strategic projects as needed to support SD Concerts and the broader Latin America organization.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in English is required given the role’s regular interaction with Live Nation’s regional and global teams.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience operating as a broad HR generalist or HR business partner.
- Prior experience in an HR Manager or similar role with responsibility for multiple areas of the HR function.
- Strong working knowledge of Dominican Republic labor law, employment regulations, social security requirements, and local HR practices.
- Demonstrated experience with employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and HR administration.
- Experience advising managers and senior leaders on sensitive and complex employee matters.
- Strong judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to navigate difficult conversations and resolve workplace issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly, thoughtfully, and concisely.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and high-quality work.
- Experience working within entertainment, live events, hospitality, media, or another fast-paced, service-oriented industry is preferred.
- Experience working within a multinational organization or joint venture environment is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with HR information systems and related HR technology.
- Flexibility to support business needs outside traditional working hours on occasion, including concerts and live events.
