Job Description:
Under minimal direction, this position serves as the primary liaison for the Airport Security Compliance section of the Airport Security Division, ensuring airport compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and requirements.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Conducts overt and covert inspections, and audits security practices and procedures. Conducts site vulnerability and physical security penetration tests and develops counter measures. Coordinates with TSA on required audits. Conducts internal and external testing of security measures. Performs outreach with tenants and internal staff to assist in the development of individual security programs. Conducts outreach training with tenants and internal staff on individual security requirements. Conducts audits of employee access levels to ensure they adhere to required federal mandates, while ensuring operational needs are met. Responds to documents, investigates, and mitigates security incidents. Researches information as requested/needed. Assesses Public Information Requests (PIRs) that fall under regulations of sensitive security information, such as airport access control logs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation with an associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to Business Administration, Public Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field,
OR - Two (2) years of experience in the U.S. Military Services, airport operations, or another airport related field.
OR - Any combination of education and work experience may substitute for the above minimum qualifications.
- Any of the above, plus two (2) years of experience conducting direct secured area entrance activities as an authorized security representative of an airport operator with a complete airport security program as described in C.F.R. 49 1542.103.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Must be able to obtain AAAE Ace Security Certification or Airport Security Coordinator Certification within sixty (60) days of hire.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver License.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport.
Notes to Candidate:
The Airport Agent Sr. (Compliance Agents) are essential to ensuring that airport workers and contractors adhere to the Airport Security Program (ASP) and
that security requirements are consistently enforced. Their
responsibilities include conducting routine inspections of
construction areas, contractor activities, and operational areas;
verifying compliance with ASP procedures; performing testing,
audits, and field checks to identify vulnerabilities or violations;
providing and documenting security training; coordinating with
Transportation Security Inspectors and airport management on
compliance issues and corrective actions; monitoring constructionrelated
impacts to security controls and operational continuity;
documenting violations, incident reports, and follow-up measures;
recommending and helping implement corrective actions;
maintaining records and reports to support enforcement and
regulatory compliance; and responding promptly to emerging
compliance issues, particularly those related to ongoing
construction.
Work Hours:
Work schedules are implemented to support business and
operational needs of the department and are subject to change.
Work hours may include after-hours, holidays, and weekend
work.
Salary:
$25.22 - $29.70
Driver License:
This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA. Successful candidate must be in possession of a Texas driver's license as authorized by the Texas Transportation Code. A driving record verification will be conducted. Applicants for positions for which City driving is an essential function must meet the standards of the program: age 18 or older, current applicable driver’s license, proof of insurability and no more than six (6) points assessed on Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) based on Department of Public Safety's (DPS) Driver Record Report. Shift work includes shift differential incentive for evening and night shifts and weekends.

This position is categorized as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and in some cases when they are not scheduled.
