As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Control in Union, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government juvenile justice location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and document security-related concerns. - Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to facility procedures.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of access-control activity, incidents, and unusual observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and facility personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
- Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
