Information Technology at Procter & Gamble is where business, innovation and technology integrate to build a competitive advantage for P&G. Our mission is clear -- we deliver IT to help P&G win with the over 5 billion consumers we serve worldwide. Our IT professionals are diverse business leaders who apply IT expertise to deliver innovative, tech-focused business models and capabilities for our 65 iconic, trusted brands.
From Day 1, you’ll be trusted to dive right in, take the lead, use your initiative, and build billion-dollar brands that help make everyday activities easier and make the world a better place! Our company offers purposeful work that will take your career places you never envisioned, in creative workspaces where innovation thrives and where your technical expertise is recognized and rewarded.
The Opportunity
This engineering role sits at the intersection of software development and the core of P&G’s award winning North American supply chain. Embedded within the warehouse innovation team, you will work directly with stakeholders to deeply understand operational problems, design algorithms and systems from the ground up, and build full-stack applications that ship to production. Every product shipped in North America will pass through one of your systems. Daily work could encompass any of the following:
Designing and implementing software solutions from scratch, including volume forecasting, yard truck routing, Labor Management Systems (LMS), internal orchestration, and physical machinery integration.
Partnering with warehouse operations stakeholders to translate real-world process challenges into well-scoped engineering problems.
Building backend services in Python and frontend interfaces in React or Vue, deployed on a Kubernetes-based platform.
Collaborating with the platform engineering team to architect, deploy, and scale solutions across all warehouse sites in North America.
Leveraging AI tools and techniques in your development workflow and as integrated components of the solutions you build.
Contributing to P&G’s internal Warehouse Execution System (WES), a 0-to-1 initiative with high visibility and long-term impact.
This role reports to a Senior Software Engineer on a 4-person Forward Deployed Engineering team, backed by a 10-person platform team. You will receive hands-on mentorship while owning meaningful work from day one.
What You’ll Do
70% Development: write production-quality Python backend algorithms and services and React/Vue frontend applications; design data models, APIs, integrations, and algorithms suited to complex warehouse workflows.
30% Consultation: engage directly with warehouse site teams and the platform engineering organization to define requirements, validate solutions, and ensure delivery fits operational realities.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.
1-3 years of software engineering experience
Proficiency in Python for backend development
Experience building UIs in React or Vue
Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) as part of your daily workflow
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to move from ambiguous operational problems to designed solutions with guidance
Excellent communication skills; able to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders
Self-driven, curious, and eager to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Available to travel up to ~10% (primarily remote engagement with occasional on-site warehouse visits)
Preferred:
Familiarity with Kubernetes or containerized deployment environments
Experience integrating AI/ML components into production systems (e.g., forecasting models, routing optimization, LLM-powered features)
Background or coursework in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering
Experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments
