Our client is a Ukrainian miltech startup developing advanced technological devices for Ukraine's defense sector, and is now looking for a Treasury Accountant to support daily treasury operations, payment processing, bank-account administration, cash reporting, and treasury-related accounting activities.

This role will help ensure that payments are executed accurately and on time, bank transactions are properly recorded and reconciled, and Finance has reliable visibility into available cash. The Treasury Accountant will work closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Payroll, Financial Planning and Analysis, and business stakeholders while maintaining appropriate approval controls and complete supporting documentation.
The ideal candidate is highly accurate, trustworthy, and comfortable working with confidential financial information and time-sensitive transactions. They should be able to manage recurring treasury activities independently within established policies, promptly investigate discrepancies, and escalate cash, payment, or control issues when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process approved supplier, payroll, tax, employee, and other business payments through online banking platforms in line with established authorization and control requirements.
• Verify payment instructions, beneficiary details, supporting documentation, approvals, payment dates, and currencies, and coordinate the resolution of rejected, returned, delayed, or incorrectly processed payments.
• Monitor daily bank balances, prepare cash-position reports, and support short-term cash-flow forecasting by consolidating expected receipts and payment obligations across the business.
• Identify and communicate upcoming funding requirements, timing conflicts, or potential liquidity concerns to Finance leadership.
• Reconcile bank accounts, payment clearing accounts, and treasury-related general-ledger balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Record or support the recording of bank transactions, fees, foreign-exchange differences, transfers, and other treasury activity in Odoo.
• Coordinate approved intercompany and inter-account transfers, as well as foreign-currency payments and conversions, and confirm successful settlement.
• Support bank-account administration, including signatory records, user access, approval limits, payment templates, and related documentation.
• Prepare recurring treasury reports and support month-end and year-end close activities related to cash, bank accounts, foreign exchange, bank fees, and treasury reconciliations.
• Maintain complete and audit-ready treasury documentation and support internal and external audits and related information requests.
• Follow segregation-of-duties, dual-approval, information-security, and fraud-prevention requirements; promptly escalate unusual payment instructions or control exceptions and contribute to improvements in treasury processes, reporting, and automation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in treasury operations, accounting, banking operations, accounts payable, or a related finance role.
• Practical experience processing payments, working with online banking platforms, and reconciling bank accounts.
• Working knowledge of cash accounting, payment controls, bank reconciliations, foreign-currency transactions, and month-end close activities.
• Experience working within approval matrices, segregation-of-duties requirements, and dual-control payment processes.
• Experience with an ERP system; hands-on experience with Odoo is strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and the ability to prepare accurate cash and reconciliation reports.
• High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail when handling confidential banking and payment information.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines and a high volume of transactions.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies through to resolution.
• Clear, service-oriented communication skills and the confidence to challenge incomplete or improperly approved payment requests.
• English proficiency sufficient for working with banking interfaces, documentation, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ukrainian language fluency.

 Would be a Plus:

• Experience in a multinational, technology, manufacturing, defense, or high-growth company.
• Experience supporting multi-entity and multi-currency treasury operations.
• Experience with short-term cash-flow forecasting and forecast-versus-actual analysis.
• Familiarity with Ukrainian banking practices, currency controls, and payment documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of Ukrainian Accounting Standards and exposure to US GAAP.
• Experience improving or automating payment, cash-reporting, or bank-reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with bank guarantees, letters of credit, or other trade-finance instruments.
