Job Summary:
The Resort Irrigation Manager oversees the complete program operation, and maintenance of the irrigation systems for the Oasis at Death Valley Resort’s landscapes, golf courses, topiaries and other outdoor areas. This role requires complete technical irrigation expertise encompassing computer/control systems, Pumps and their related filter and pressure systems, Valves, sensors and plant to water distribution needs and uniformity. This position also requires strong operational management background to ensure water efficiency, plant health and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. The incumbent will be required to build a seasonal preventative maintenance guide to ensure proper care of all areas requiring irrigation. Create and update the irrigation system on drawings indicating valve, head and line locations.
The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $31.25 - $33.65 HourlySchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Develop irrigation plans tailored to resort landscape to ensure efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Schedule and direct personnel, equipment, and subcontractors to deliver quality irrigation services.
- Maintain, Identify, and correct Irrigation system problems and electrical problems.
- Document daily activities; maintain accurate repair records.
- Assist with daily ground maintenance using a structured program.
- Monitor all aspects of the irrigation system and identify any problems as they arise. Repair as required.
- Apply preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and landscape for maximum irrigation efficiency.
- Create and enforce maintenance schedule
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical and hydraulic issues in pumps and irrigations systems.
- Perform routine maintenance such as lubrications, leak checks and hydraulic issues in pumps.
- Maintain clean, organized and stocked workstations in the irrigation parts room and assigned equipment.
- Recognize safety hazards and act accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Respond to all emergencies requiring irrigation needs.
- Must demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of all electrical and hydraulics parts related to the irrigation system including valves, controllers, and pumps.
- Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
- Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in ground maintenance work.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Basic Competencies:
- Able to follow instructions with follow up, respect, and integrity.
- Able to provide quick and productive solutions to a multitude of challenges and/or limited resources.
- Ability to demonstrate sense urgency around deadlines, guest experience and the Oasis at Death Valley branding.
