Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow SAM & ITOM Specialist to design, implement, and manage Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) capabilities on the ServiceNow platform. The role focuses on integrating software asset lifecycle management with infrastructure visibility, discovery, and service mapping to improve compliance, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Implement and configure ServiceNow SAM Pro and ITOM modules including:
Discovery
Service Mapping
Event Management
Operational Intelligence
Manage end-to-end software asset lifecycle:
Software discovery and inventory ingestion
Normalization and reconciliation
License entitlement management
Compliance tracking and optimization
Configure and maintain Discovery patterns, probes, and sensors.
Integrate multiple data sources (SCCM, Intune, JAMF, cloud platforms) for accurate software and infrastructure visibility.
Ensure CMDB accuracy, health, and governance aligned with CSDM standards.
Work on ITOM capabilities to improve infrastructure visibility and dependency mapping.
Configure Event Management rules, alerts, and incident creation workflows.
Design and maintain service maps for business-critical applications.
Perform software license optimization and compliance reporting.
Collaborate with IT, security, procurement, and infrastructure teams.
Troubleshoot Discovery, CMDB, and SAM data issues.
Develop dashboards and reports for SAM compliance and ITOM performance metrics.
Support audits and ensure adherence to software licensing agreements.
Required Skills
5–10 years of experience in ServiceNow platform implementation/support.
Strong hands-on experience with:
ServiceNow SAM Pro
ServiceNow ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)
CMDB and CSDM data model
Strong understanding of:
Software licensing models and asset lifecycle management
Discovery architecture (MID Servers, probes, sensors)
IT infrastructure components (servers, applications, networks, cloud)
Experience with data reconciliation and normalization rules.
Strong troubleshooting skills in Discovery and CMDB data issues.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and IT Asset Management (ITAM).
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and external data sources.
Preferred Skills
Experience integrating with tools such as:
SCCM
Microsoft Intune
JAMF
AWS / Azure / GCP
Experience with:
IntegrationHub
Performance Analytics and dashboards
Event Management alert correlation
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
Exposure to automation and scripting in ServiceNow (JavaScript, Glide APIs).
Understanding of cybersecurity and infrastructure monitoring tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Preferred
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM (CIS-SAM) – Preferred
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM (CIS-ITOM) – Highly Preferred
ITIL Foundation Certification – Preferred
Key Competencies

Ability to manage complex data relationships across SAM and CMDB.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Strong attention to detail in compliance and governance.
Ability to work in cross-functional enterprise environments.
Nice to Have
Experience in enterprise-scale CMDB transformation programs.
Knowledge of FinOps and software cost optimization strategies.
Exposure to AIOps and predictive analytics in IT operations.
Experience with ServiceNow automation and AI capabilities (Now Assist, Event Intelligence).
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD integration for ServiceNow.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM).
- This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
