About the Role

We are seeking experienced Cancer Care and Oncology Registered Nurses for cancer care clinic and oncology opportunities at Royal Darwin Hospital and Katherine Hospital. These positions offer the opportunity to deliver compassionate, specialist nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, supporting their physical and emotional wellbeing throughout their care.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within cancer care clinic and oncology settings

• Complete patient assessments and monitor responses to cancer treatments

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments within your verified competencies and facility protocols

• Recognise and escalate treatment-related complications, infusion reactions, and clinical deterioration

• Access and manage central venous access devices, PICC lines, and peripheral IV cannulas within your scope of practice

• Support symptom management, including pain, nausea, fatigue, and other treatment-related side effects

• Educate patients and families about treatment, side effects, and when to seek assistance

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated treatment and ongoing care

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection prevention and safe handling procedures

• Katherine Hospital – Katherine

What you'll need

• Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)

• Minimum 2 years post-graduate nursing experience in oncology or cancer care

• Recent experience supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment

• Chemotherapy administration competence and ADAC certification for chemotherapy delivery roles

• Competence in CVAD, PICC, and peripheral IV cannula management

• Confidence recognising and responding to oncology emergencies and treatment-related complications

• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to supporting patients and families

• Ability to work confidently within a busy specialist clinical environment
