Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physician Assistant, you will assume responsibility and accountability for providing comprehensive care, support, and education to patients and their families throughout their medical care process. Your role is pivotal in guiding patients through their healthcare journey.Every day, you will participate as a key member of the team, diligently working to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of each patient. You will utilize a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to patient and family care, serving as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher. You will also maintain full responsibility for job performance specifications, assuming personal accountability for departmental and organizational missions and core values.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional expertise in patient care, strong collaborative capabilities, and a profound commitment to educating patients and their families. You will seamlessly integrate into an interdisciplinary team, uphold organizational values, and consistently drive optimal patient outcomes.

 

• Performs clinical examinations as necessary for outpatients/inpatients.
• Writes orders and prescriptions.
• Identifies problem list based on approved protocols, current evidencebased standards of care, and scope of practice.
• Interprets and evaluates test results.
• Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Manages the discharge of patients with appropriate disposition, followup planning, adjunctive therapy management, and education.

Job Requirements

Required

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Physician Assistant (PA) license or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of Colorado
• Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) certification (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner board certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred

• 2 (+) Years Of Experience In surgical departments with surgical experience
• Neurosurgery and Operating Room (OR) first assist experience strongly preferred
• NP candidates must have documented surgical first assist experience
