Department Overview

The Logistics Business was established to build the next generation of e-commerce infrastructure by envisioning the ideal form of Rakuten’s logistics throughout the entire supply chain, from the receipt of goods to final delivery to end users.

We currently manage the following two primary services:
 
・Rakuten Super Logistics: We provide comprehensive support for our merchants on "Rakuten Ichiba," ranging from sales and service operations to business planning.
・3PL Business: We serve as a 3PL partner, working in close collaboration with the logistics departments for Rakuten’s 1st-party e-commerce sites, such as "Rakuten 24" and "Rakuten Fashion".
 
Furthermore, in July 2021, we established a joint venture with Japan Post Co., Ltd., named "JP Rakuten Logistics, Inc." By integrating our self-developed, automated, and labor-saving logistics centers into the Japan Post delivery network, we are working to realize "Logistics DX." Our goal is to enhance customer UX, shorten lead times, improve logistics efficiency, and maximize operational capacity.

Position Details

To ensure the smooth operation of the logistics business, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving key business and management issues, while leading company-wide management initiatives and serving in roles such as Manager or Project Manager.

・Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Manage the budget and track performance (actual vs. budget) for EC logistics services.
・Business Analysis & Improvement: Develop and execute improvement initiatives based on data-driven business analysis.
・Strategic Project Management: Lead or participate in strategic initiatives, including warehouse expansion and logistics cost optimization.
・Governance & Management Foundations: Strengthen organizational control systems, including audit support, fixed asset management, and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development and implementation.


・Executive Management: Report on budget performance and present improvement proposals to address key management challenges.
・Corporate Planning & Finance/Admin: Collaborate on budget formulation, performance reporting, and the alignment of group-wide strategies and governance.
・Business Units: Partner with internal 1st-party business units (e.g., Rakuten 24, Rakuten Fashion).


You will begin by serving as a core member in the management and control of the EC logistics business. We expect you to evolve into a management role, where you will lead the group’s overall management and governance structure, including internal controls and group company oversight.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・3+ years of practical experience in management accounting.
・Experience in budget vs. actual (B/A) management in a role close to executive management, or equivalent experience in corporate management/administration.
・Proven experience in developing and executing initiatives to resolve management issues.
・Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and colleagues.
 ・Business-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., advanced Excel functions).
 ・1+ years of experience in people management.

Desired Qualifications:

・Experience in managing cross-functional, company-wide projects.
・Practical experience in accounting or finance related to fixed assets and lease contracts.
・Background in corporate planning departments or consulting firms.
・Proven experience in project management.
・Strong experience in data analysis.
・Professional experience in the logistics or e-commerce industries.
